Community Guidelines

Clear rules for sharing useful property information while respecting ownership, privacy and safety.

Our community standard

Home Whispers is for useful, honest and respectful property information. These guidelines apply to listings, photos, comments, whispers, polls, predictions, profile details, private messages and every other contribution to the service.

Contribute information that you reasonably believe is accurate. Separate direct knowledge from opinion or rumour, correct mistakes when they are identified, and never use the platform to mislead buyers, sellers, owners or neighbours.

Use only images you are allowed to publish

Upload only photos or other media that you created yourself, or that you have express permission or a valid licence to publish on Home Whispers. Being able to view, download, screenshot or copy an image does not give you permission to republish it.

  • Do not copy, paste, download or screenshot listing images from Domain, realestate.com.au, an agency website, social media, Google Images or any other website unless the copyright owner has expressly allowed you to republish them here.
  • Do not remove watermarks, crop out attribution, alter ownership information or present another person's photo as your own.
  • You may add a link to the original property listing or source page instead of copying its images.
  • Do not trespass, enter private property without permission, use a drone unlawfully or put anyone at risk to obtain a photo.
  • Do not upload images showing children, identifiable people, private documents, number plates, security systems, keys, access codes or personal possessions without appropriate permission.
  • Do not upload intimate, sexual, exploitative, violent or otherwise unlawful imagery. Synthetic or materially edited images must not be presented as a true photograph of a property.

If you are unsure whether you own the rights to an image, do not upload it. Link to the original page instead.

Keep property information accurate

  • Use the correct address and do not create duplicate or fabricated properties.
  • Clearly identify whether a property is for sale, an upcoming auction, a live auction or a past result.
  • Do not invent prices, bids, sale results, zoning, council details, measurements, features or inspection information.
  • Do not claim to represent an owner, agency or buyer unless that is true and you are authorised to do so.
  • Disclose a relevant commercial or personal interest, including if you are the owner, agent, vendor, buyer, contractor or a person acting for one of them.
  • Do not coordinate false predictions, reviews, likes, reports or comments to influence how a property or contributor appears.

Respect people and protect their safety

  • No threats, intimidation, stalking, harassment, bullying or encouragement of harm.
  • No hateful or discriminatory content targeting a person or group because of a protected or personal characteristic.
  • No doxxing or publication of private contact details, financial information, identity documents, private messages or other personal information without consent.
  • No sexual exploitation, child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate imagery or content that endangers a child.
  • Do not reveal that a property is vacant, identify vulnerable occupants or publish security information that could create a safety risk.
  • Criticise conduct or property information without attacking, humiliating or exposing the person involved.

Participate authentically

  • Use one genuine account and do not impersonate another person, business, agency or public authority.
  • Do not use bots, scripts, purchased engagement or coordinated accounts to manipulate activity or reputation.
  • Do not post spam, repetitive promotions, referral schemes, scams, malware or deceptive links.
  • Agents and other property professionals must be clear about their role and agency relationship where it is relevant.
  • Do not offer money, rewards or favourable treatment in exchange for misleading content or the removal of honest content.

Reporting a concern

Use the report control beside content when available. For urgent safety, privacy or copyright concerns, contact [email protected] with the page link, a short explanation and any evidence you are permitted to share.

Do not misuse reporting tools to silence disagreement, inconvenience another user or gain a commercial advantage. Reports are assessed under the Moderation Standards.
